The University of Bologna will confer a
Laurea ad
Honorem in Physics to Prof. Barry C. Barish,
of Caltech, Leader of the Linear Collider Project and to Prof. Sheldon L.
Glashow, of Boston University, 1979 Nobel Laureate in Physics.
The event will take place in the "Aula Absidale", S. Lucia of the University
of Bologna, via De’ Chiari, 25, Bologna, on Monday October 2, 2006 at 17:30
h.
For this
occasion we have also organized a short workshop on "Beyond the Standard
Model" which will be held in the "Sala Ulisse" of the Bologna Academy of
Sciences, via Zamboni 31, Bologna. The workshop will try to make a short
assessment of the main open problems in the field.
The next day, October 3, 2006, there will be a science communication meeting
with High School and University students.
We would like
